WE ARE WATTS OCCURRING RACING
A junior cycling team built not just to race, but to give talented young riders the chance to see how far they can go.
We believe the environment matters. The people around you matter. And while results matter, they’re only part of the story.
Our mission? To create an outstanding team environment where young riders can race hard, learn, make mistakes, support each other and enjoy the journey.
In 2027, six riders will pull on the Watts Occurring Racing jersey for the first time. They’ll race across the UK and Europe, take on some of the biggest challenges of their young careers and, hopefully, create some brilliant memories along the way.
Where will it lead?
We don’t know yet.
That’s the exciting bit.

OUR STORY
Maindy Flyers x Watts Occurring

WHERE IT STARTED.
WHERE IT GOES NEXT.
Watts Occurring Racing is a collaboration between Maindy Flyers and the Watts Occurring podcast, presented by former Flyers and professional cyclists Geraint Thomas and Luke Rowe.

And that connection matters.

Maindy Flyers has been developing young riders in Cardiff for more than 30 years. It’s where Geraint and Luke began their own journeys in cycling, alongside riders including Elinor Barker, Meg Barker, Owain Doull and sisters, Zoe & Elynor Bäckstedt.

Now, Watts Occurring Racing brings those two worlds together, the club where it all started and Watts Occurring, a name that has become part of cycling far beyond Maindy.

We’re incredibly proud of that history.

But this isn’t about trying to create the next Geraint Thomas or Luke Rowe.

It’s about giving the next generation their own opportunity, their own experiences and their own story to tell.
